Simple searches provide you with a list
of documents and the relevance ranking of each document through
frequency statistics.
Expanded searches provide you with a brief
sample of the document's content as well as the information
found with simple search.
Raw searches provide you with a brief
sample of the document's content as well as the information
found with simple search. The search results are provided in a single page.
Custom searches allows you to fully customize the results page. A custom results page example is available when you choose Custom as the current format before launching the search.
Proximity Search or Near Operator
You can search for terms that occur within a paragraph, provided the administrator has built the database(s) with paragraph option. When typing two words within double quotes, the "near" operator will be automatically inserted.
Exact phrase
You can search for an exact phrase (query containing more than one term) in a document by putting single quotes around the search query. The searched phrase within single quotes should be filled inside the first text box.
Wild card
You can use wild card search to get results that start with particular characters by typing * at the end of the search query. For example, to get documents containing terms that begin with comp, enter comp* as the search term.
